The
Devil’s bridge
It
is situated 15 km. in north way from town of Ardino.
It is build during XVII century of ancient way,
connecting the White sea area across the Rhodopes
with Gornotrakiiska lowland. Its length is 56 m.
and its width is 3.5 m. Its central vault is 11.5
high. It is situated in a very artistic place and
it's one of the favourite places of the tourists.
Protected site
“Eagle rocks”
It
is situated 3 km. away from town of Ardino. It is
a thracian sanctuary with 97 excavated rock niches
in the high and vertical rocks. It is supposed that
potteries and tiles are put in them, connected to
the cult of the dead.
Megalith monument
of culture „Kromleh“
It
is situated about 12 km. from the town of Madzharovo.
Ancient megalith equipment from V-VII century b.c.-
represents enclosed sacred area-stone circle, isolated
from outside forces, used for ancient religious
sacred actions.
Medieval fortress
of „Lyutitza“
Situated
near the town of Ivaylovgrad, this fortresss is
one of the most well preserved in its original appearance
on bulgarian lands. It's total area is 14 dka. Its
walls had 2 m thickness and 6 m height. The fortress
had 12 towers with 9 m of height. It was built in
XII – XIII century by king Kaloyan.
Ancient
villa „Armira“
It's
situated 2 km from the town of Ivaylovgrad. It was
an impressive complex of residential and farm bulidings,
extended over an area of 2200 m. The residential
part had a big inside yard, surrounded by a covered
gallery with colonade and swimming pool in the middle.
Around the yard was the living-space – dining-room,
living-room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom etc. The
villa was inhabited till the third quarter of IV
century. It's destruction is connected with the
invasion of the Goths in 378. Today the villa is
plundered for good, despite it is a monument of
culture of national importance and it's protected
by the law.
Thracian complex “The deaf stones”
One
of the biggest religious-funeral complexes in the
Eastern Rhodopes. It arised in the XII – VI centuries
before Christ and it was used in Antiquity and Middle-Ages.
It was one of the most important thracian sanctuaries.
Today you can feel it's magic influence together
with the catching-breath view over the dam of Ivaylovgrad.
The complex is a monument of culture of national
importance and it's protected by the law.
